Can one have GERD or Acid Reflux Disease and not have heartburn?

I ask because the health practitioner thinks I may have it, but I have to heartburn…at all.

I have GERD and do not get heartburn.

However before starting on Nexium I did have stomach ulcers ( I was on antibiotics for 5 months). I was producing lots of acid and would bring up cupfuls of acid daily.

Two years later the ulcers are healed and I am still on Nexium and I do not get heartburn.

    I dont see why not.

heart burn is when the acid irritates your esophagus. maybe yours just has extra mucus or is unusually insensitive.

take a make up mirror and examine the inside of your teeth. acid refux causes your teeth to erode from the inside.

also do you burp and taste vinegar?

you do not need to have both. I have acid reflux but barely ever have heartburn.
