Can you tell me about acid reflux disease?
I have nausea a lot, especially first thing in the morning (NOT pregnant) and vomit a lot more than usual. I also do that throw up in the mouth thing with acidy type stuff.
It’s becoming very bothersome and is getting worse.
Should I see a doctor, and what could they do to help me?
Thanks for any info.
Acid Reflux Disease, or medically known as GERD or Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease is an condition wherein your gastroesophageal sphincter (the valve that closes the stomach when digesting your food and prevents the acid in your stomach from reaching your esophagus) is lax. This is usually caused by skipping meals, drinking too much alcohol, milk, or coffee when you’re hungry, and other things. Beware, this is one condition that can lead to esophageal cancer.
Common signs and symptoms would include burning pain at the epigastric area, vomiting, belching, as well as acidic taste in the mouth upon lying down, etc.
Omeprazole 40mg tab once per day every morning for 2 weeks is the medicine i usually give to my patients, along with advices on proper timing of meals, as well as at least a slight snack in between meals, and avoiding alcohol and cigarettes.
However, it is truly advisable to seek the advise of your own personal doctor for proper check-up and physical examination, you’ll never know if what you’re having is not acid reflux in the first place.
and follow the old advise, "if symptoms persists, consult your doctor."
hope this helps.
Seeing a doctor is your best bet. I have acid reflux disease and I take a tablet that the doctor recommended. You can usually buy all of the medicines for it over the counter without a prescription, but your doctor should know the best one for you specifically.

Go to the Dr and ask for Protonix. It’s very expensive, but they just came out with a generic thats about 1/2 the price. I have the same thing you have and have had it for years and thats all I found that helps
