What are the symptoms of acid reflux? What foods should I avoid? Or….what foods can I eat might be easier!
Symptoms–heartburn, regurgitation of acid, peptic ulcer-like pain, difficulty swallowing. All symptoms do not need to be present to have a diagnosis of acid reflux disease.
The symptoms may, (or may not) be relieved when food is eaten. You should stay in an upright position for at least one hour after eating which may help decrease the symptoms.
You should avoid greasy, fried foods. Other types of foods to avoid include spicy food & foods with tomato content–spaghetti, lasagna, pizza, goulash, etc. Try to stay away from pepper. Stay away from fruits with high acid content–lemons (lemonade), oranges (orange juice), etc. Stay away from soda & caffeine products. They increase acid production-as well as do cigarettes or other tobacco products.
A bland diet is recommended–milk, cream, prepared cereals, gelatin, soup, rice, butter, crackers, eggs, lean meats, fish, cottage cheese, custards, tapioca, cookies & plain cake. Multivitamins may be needed to counteract the vitamins lost through a strict bland diet.
Treatment is toward decreasing the acid in the gut produced from certain foods. The diet will help. A Dr would probably recommend meds geared toward reducing the acid. OTC meds are available such as Pepcid AC-Tagamet-and numerous others. Newer GI meds (by prescription only) includes an antibiotic with the acid reducer.
Hope this info gives you some insight.
I have heard of people really benefiting from the consumption of Goji Juice, which is also called Lycium Barbarum. For example my friend who really benefited from the Goji said that the trick is to have 2 oz. shot of the Himalayan Goji juice half an hour before his meals, which he says helped him tremendously. On top of it, there is tremendous research that the company Freelife put into this particular superfruit which is now being featured in many media outlets as a breakthrough discovery. You can get more information from GojiTini.com . Another big bonus is the company gives 90-day money back guarantee, no questions asked if you are not satisfied. What can you lose? See for yourself and I am confident you’ll thank me for it.

the symptom is a burning sensation from your stomach to your throat.
you should avoid foods that are too rich, too spicy, and too acidic (especially tomato sauces for me), but honestly it’s trial and error. some things can be better or worse for different people.
try drinking 1/2 a cup of pure carrot juice each night, it helps alleviate the symptoms very, very much.
