I hear Aciphex works good…but you have to get a prescription from a doctor.

Talk to your dr about getting a script for generic Prilosec. I take it for the after effects of a really ugly stomach flu, and it works really well. With insurance drug coverage, it’s cheaper by far than the brand name OTC.

Prilosec OTC is good if you want something over the counter to take on a regular basis. If you need immediate relief after eating, try Gaviscon (I use the chewables). You must chew them and drink water immediately after. They form a nice barrier in your esophagus and stop the pain.

I have tried Prevacid, and Nexium – neither worked any better than Prilosec OTC.
