Hi there,
i am a 27 year old male who suffers with acid reflux quite frequently. The problem started about 6 years ago but was only mild at first. It hasd got to the point now when acid reflux is a daily issue for me and it takes less and less to trigger the painful symptoms of acid reflux. It is annoying because everytime i drink 1 budweiser i suffer really badly with the acid. Not just budweiser, any form of alcohol really causes this problem. Now logically a solution would obviously be to not drink beers or any alcohol but the truth is i drink maybe 1 or 2 beers a week and sometimes i go weeks without a drink at all (maybe i will drink if i go to a house party or something like that) but drinking is something i very seldom do.
I do get annoyed because at times when i want to let my hair down so to speak and have a beer or two with my friends i always have acid as an academic consequence each time and it affects me in this respect.
So i have seen the acid remedy product gaviscon advertised for afew years now and wondered, for those of you who take it, is it any good and does it give you mich relief from the acid? Which gaviscon product is the best to take for daily acid which is triggered by certain things i eat and drink (mainly sausages, cheese, chocolate, pizza and drinkwise, beer and vodka) I also eay healthy too so i do balance out the unhealthy with the healthy type foods and i drink alot of mineral water aswell..
Which gaviscon product do you think would best suit me? Thanks
I have tried Rennies for years and for me personally they offer little to no relief from acid reflux and thought to myself that i would investigate and enquire into how effective gaviscon is for treating this painful affliction?
Cheers in advance

bicorbinate and water works well
I used to suffer from gastic reflux regularly, and took Gaviscon liquid. However, strangely enough after having my gall bladder removed, I don’t seem to have suffered at all.

Whenever I have a problem with heart burn, I take a swig of Apple Cider Vinegar. It goes down like a shot of whiskey the first couple of times you use it, but once you get used to it, it is a great heart burn remedy. It works in about a minute. I don’t have acid reflux problems any more.

If you have been properly diagnosed with acid reflux the Doc should have given you proton inhibitors on prescription, these cut down the acid production in your stomach. I take these and gaviscon as well. I suggest half hour before you have a beer take a good swig of Gaviscon and some when you go to bed.
I have not seen different sorts, just the bottles.

you need to get to the source of the problem if you want to get rid of acid reflux. a lot of the over counter meds out there only help the symptoms they don’t get to the root of the problem.
there are several home remedies you can do that are cheap and very effective
