After i eat certain foods… Acid reflux?
After I eat i occasionally feel like there is food at the bottom of my throat, and i feel a lot of pressure build up in my throat and stomach especially when i lay down. And if i sit up after laying down for a while i usually let out a huuuuuge belch and feel a lot better. Typically most of the discomfort comes from an intense amount of gas, or indigestion. It just seems like food is stuck almost in my esophagus. Whats weird is that its not limited to greasy or spicy foods, its actually a wide variety of foods that i have a response like this.
you need to go to a doc for that. i had the same problem and it was worse than acid reflux. i had a hiatle hyneria. befor diagnosed, food just sat there and it will like gasoline was coming up. i have been on nexium for 3 yrs. it repairs the damage and keeps you ok. i have t take it for the rest of my life though.
What are some foods that a person with acid reflux or GERD must absolutely AVOID (specifics please not just..)
vague like "things with acid".
Apparently my doctor told me I have GERD which is GastroEsophagael Reflux Disease so I need to know what I can and cannot eat. Please help, any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciates
I hope this helps. A lot of problems come from how/what we eat and combine our foods together. Let me explain.
It was the first time I cooked dinner for my then-boyfriend. I didn’t know it back then, but my own cure began with a question from this man who would later become my husband(Mike)
Shortly after we met, I made dinner for him and he asked if it would be alright if he didn’t eat one of the foods I had prepared. He said it all looked wonderful, but that the combination would give him a stomach ache. I didn’t know what he meant, since nothing was fried and no hot spices were used.
It was then that he asked me the question that literally changed my life forever!
Mike asked me, “Have you heard of food combining?”
My immediate answer was "no" I hadn’t heard of it. Even though it wasn’t anything new, and had been endorsed by many health experts, peak performance experts and celebrities and more – I really had never heard of FOOD COMBINING.
After hearing about how "mis-combining" leads to acidosis, acid-reflux, heartburn and a host of other digestive problems, I had my first "properly combined" meal…
And I HAD ABSOLUTELY NO SYMPTOMS WHATSOEVER!
NO PAIN! NOTHING!
That’s right…
NO cramps
NO bloated stomach
NO excessive gas
NO ‘IBS’
NO acid reflux
NO constipation
NO running to the bathroom
NO horrendous pain
Can you imagine how relieved I felt after all those years? If you have ever suffered any of these symptoms, even mildly, you will understand why I was wild with joy!

Acid reflux symptom Manuka Honey And Acid Reflux Posted By:
http://acidrefluxtruths.com/
Another nasty ailment another victory for Manuka Honey. Acid Reflux Acid reflux is the common term for gastro esophageal reflux disease or GERD, a condition of bnormal acid reflux that causes damages to the digestive system. This disease can affect both adults and children, however, pregnant women, smokers and people who sleep right after eating are especially prone to acid reflux.
It is primarily caused by the malfunction of the muscles which control the doorway for food to the stomach (esophageal sphincters). It can also be brought about by the abnormal production of stomach acids which are essential is breaking down and digesting food. Basically the build up of the acids is released through these muscles and into the oesophagus which doesn’t have the same protective lining which in turn causes the pain over prolonged periods can cause damage.
A few easy lifestyle changes can generally help to prevent acid reflux especially if you are a smoker. People who have smoked regularly for twenty years are 70% more susceptible to acid reflux disease compared to non-smokers.manuka honeyactive manuka honeymanuka honey

what foods should i stay away from for acid reflux?
i take a pill everyday that helps but i was wondering if you sudgest any foods that would make it act up more… please no long answers just like a list and why if u want
Well… everyone is different and can react differently to certain foods. I found that by keeping track of what I was eating, and becoming "aware" of the foods that were triggering my acid reflux attacks, was the BEST way to discover what to stay away from.
High fatty foods (take-out food) and dairy products turned out to be the worst culprits for me, especially if eaten late at night!

What foods quell acid reflux?
Hi Brandon,
It’s often more a matter of eliminating foods and changing habits than adding foods. That said, you can add Omega-3 fatty acids–which help everything work better–chamomile tea, and mint tea, and see if that helps. Tofu is a cooling food that might be helpful.
Prime aggravators of acid reflux are acidic foods–coffee, citrus, tomato. Reduce or eliminate these. Intensely "hot" spices can also make it worse.
Try to eat in a relaxed state, not working, reading, or watching TV. *How* you eat is as important as *what* you eat.
Drink water away from meals, so as not to "dampen the digestive fire". Choose warm, cooked (steamed) foods, which are easier for the body to digest and assimilate (half the work is done for you by the cooking process!) Try drinking a small cup of jasmine tea with meals, which also aids digestion.
Chew well. Chew *really* well. Eat smaller portions–an overly-full stomach is a sure way to create reflux.
Another thing to try is to eat protein and starch at separate meals; they are hard to digest together. You can eat protein with vegetables, starch with vegetables, and fruit all by itself.
Drink a cup of water (not ice water) with lemon squeezed in as soon as you wake up. Counterintuitive, but it works. Only drink this once a day or it can become "too much of a good thing".
Experiment and see what works for *you*!
Good luck.
A List Of Foods To Avoid With Acid Reflux

A List Of Foods To Avoid With Acid Reflux
If you have acid reflux, you know that familiar feeling after you’ve eaten a meal or exercised. Your chest feels tight, and you feel a fire inside at the bottom of your neck that no amount of cold water can relieve.
Many sufferers turn to over-the-counter antacids, the kind that come in little rolls like breath mints. These products often provide relief for a few minutes, but soon the burning returns, seemingly worse than it was in the first place. Like many sufferers, you wish you knew which foods to avoid with acid reflux, to keep it from happening again.
Damage From Acid Reflux
Inside your body, acid reflux may be doing permanent damage to your esophagus. Over time, this damage can increase your risk for getting esophageal cancer. Some acid reflux sufferers must have their esophagus examined with a scope, like a tracheoscopy, every year, to inspect the sensitive tissue for damage that could lead to cancer. Learning to avoid certain foods with acid reflux consequences seems preferable to undergoing such an invasive, expensive procedure every year.
Foods To Avoid
With acid reflux, diet is key. Acid reflux occurs when the lower esophageal sphincter muscle relaxes, loosening the seal between the stomach, where acid is stored, and the esophagus, where tender tissue need to be protected from acid. Certain foods encourage the sphincter muscle to relax, and should be avoided.
Caffeinated beverages, such as coffee, tea, and cola drinks, can contribute to the occurrence of acid reflux. Similarly, alcoholic beverages including wine and beer can cause acid reflux symptoms to flare up. These are all beverages, or foods, to avoid with acid reflux symptoms.
Sadly for many, chocolate can also cause acid reflux symptoms. Other foods that contribute to acid reflux are garlic and onions, as well as peppermint, spearmint, and hot, spicy foods. If you are plagued with acid reflux, these are foods to avoid.
Behavior To Avoid
Just as the wrong foods can contribute to acid reflux, there are certain behaviors that can also loosen the lower esophageal sphincter muscle and result in acid reflux symptoms. Pregnancy can temporarily cause acid reflux, but symptoms virtually always subside after the baby comes. Wearing tight clothing can also trigger symptoms or make them worse.
When you eat can be as important as what you eat when you are trying to avoid acid reflux. Sufferers should stop eating at least three hours before bedtime, as late-night eating has been known to exacerbate acid reflux symptoms.
